Ladbrokes Lose Big
Posted on May 15th, 2009 No commentsLadbrokes suffered decline in profits in the first four months of the year. It said that March happened to be “highly profitable” for its customers, particularly those who attended the Cheltenham festival.
The bookmaker was also hit when 23 out of 25 football World Cup qualifiers were won by favourites during March. Individual games such as Manchester United versus Aston Villa in April when Red Devils won the game with last minute goal also had an effect, Ladbrokes said.
Ladbrokes profit fell 34 per cent during last four months.
